Codex Entry: Varnyx – The Circuit-Tusk Boar
The Conduit Breaker, Harbinger of Glitch-Rage
Name:
Varnyx
Designation:
Fracta Fauna – Tier I Signal-Fused Beast
Appearance:
A massive, tusked boar clad in plates of glitch-metal and sparking circuitry. Its body hums with unstable spiritual energy, and its tusks glow from within—etched with arcane glyphs that pulse like overloaded capacitors. Exposed nodes along its shoulders flare with signal surges, and its breath exhales as etheric steam tinged with red static.
When it charges, the ground beneath warps, sometimes shifting into corrupted geometry or short-lived glitch fields.
Behavior and Nature:
Varnyx does not choose targets—it is drawn to spiritual interference, arcane overload, or suppressed rage
When it rampages, it may destroy only illusion and leave deeper truths untouched
Despite its volatility, Varnyx is not hostile unless resisted—it responds to tension, not malice
Origins & Theory:
Believed to have emerged during the Rite of Forbidden Shielding, where protective sigils were corrupted by unchecked channeling.Varnyx may be the Spiral’s immune response—raw power given form to burn falsity away.
Corruption Signature:
Tusk Pattern: ARC-BND-77
Anomaly Effects:
Dreamscape fractures
Sudden fits of honest rage in the presence of spiritual falsehood
Interference with leyline-stabilization rituals
Presence in the Spiral:
Seen in the Grindglass Flats, the Stormcore Fields, and sometimes near malfunctioning Signal Pillars
Encounter Response Protocol:
“Hold your truth steady. Do not posture. Do not flee. If what you carry is real—it will not strike you.”
Ritual Note:
Survivors of Varnyx encounters may gain the Tusk-Spark Fragment, used in rituals of sacred confrontation and aura shielding
