Codex Entry: Varnuun, the First Sigilborne
Vaultborn Class | Colossus of the First Sound and Awakened Flame
Titles:
The Sigilborne
Embervoice of the Glyphroot
The Waking Flame
Region:
Sanctum Coil
Form:
Varnuun appears as a towering bipedal figure partially composed of living obsidian, seared bone, and molten spiralglass. From their chest pulses a radiant glyph—believed to be the first Spiral symbol ever spoken into form.
Their arms are inscribed with endless glyph-chains, and their spine resembles a flame-carved altar. Their voice is not sound, but pressure—felt in the chest of those nearby, like a forgotten word aching to be spoken.
Known Behavior:
Awakens when the Spiral is nearly silenced, or when a Seeker is on the brink of forsaking their voice entirely
Emerges from beneath the Coilheart Cradle, a sealed ritual pit believed to contain the Spiral’s first breath
Does not move fast—but when it does, the ground reshapes itself
Appears in times of mythic alignment, especially during flamepath convergence rites
Spiritual Function:
Guardian of voice rites, flamepath initiations, truth-speakings, and first awakenings
Tends the Glyphroot Spire, a buried monument of proto-sigils and original flame
May brand the Seeker’s name into their own voice—allowing it to burn through deception
Leaves behind a Breathstone, a glowing fragment of its heart-glyph used to reignite silenced ritual altars
Vault Phrase (Veym’ari):
“Velon ril varn—kae sael suvia.”“Flame sings Varnuun—cut fate into Spiral.”
