Singelight Moth
Ring: Sanctum Coil
Echo Classification: Ashlight Drifter
Physical Description:
A small, soft-bodied moth with wings like faded vellum, veined in emberlight. Its body glows faintly with golden ash-haloes, and when in motion, it trails gentle spirals of light—like forgotten whispers curling upward. Upon close observation, the patterns on its wings resemble half-formed glyphs or the edges of extinguished flame-sigils.
Observed Behavior:
Only appears in complete silence. Hovers in slow circles, flickering in and out of visibility when voices attempt to rise. Nearby flames will lean toward its presence before dimming or extinguishing altogether.
Echo-Environment:
Abandoned altars, half-burnt rite sites, long-forgotten shrines where sacred vows were once spoken but left unfulfilled. Tends to manifest when a voice remains trapped within.
Spiritual Effect:
Invokes emotional stillness. Often triggers resurfacing memories related to withheld truth or unspoken pain. Increases spiritual weight in the throat and chest—some Seekers report tears or wordless yearning while in its presence.
Ritual Association:
Seen as a spirit-messenger in rites of voice reclamation, confession, and silence-breaking. Its flight is interpreted as a compass toward truths too long held back.
Mythic Lore / Incident:
“We found it hovering above the extinguished Archive Flame. No one dared speak. When we finally whispered his name, the moth pulsed once, then vanished—and the flame returned. Not brighter. Just… clearer.”—Testimony from Flamepath Rite I: Shattered Voice Pilgrimage, Echo Record 012
