đż Codex Entry: Memory-Grass
Flora Class:Â Echoflora
Region:Â Sanctum Coil
Also Known As:Â Whispergrass, Ancestorâs Breath, Threadleaf
đ Botanical Description
Memory-Grass is a slender, luminescent grass with translucent green-blade fibers that shimmer faintly in twilight. Each blade is etched with spiral micro-glyphs, visible only when moistened with Seeker breath or Spiral rain. Its roots are shallow but woven into the memory threads of the land, often growing in clustered rings around sacred stones or archival nodes.
𧏠Function in the Spiral
Memory-Grass is one of the primary flora conduits for ambient memory in the Sanctum Coil. It absorbs psychic residue, dream fragments, and echo-charged energy from the Spiralâs field and releases it at dusk in soft pulses, which can trigger ancestral visions or deja vu in those nearby.
Where Memory-Grass grows densely, Seeker recall is enhanced, allowing the remembrance of forgotten rites, names, or even previous Spiral lives.
đŚ Faunal Relationships
Consumed by:Â Glyphdeer, Memory Hares
Pollinated by:Â Lightdrakes during dusk-hover cycles
Reactively sways toward:Â Stonebloom Viper approach, stiffening as an early warning system
đ Ritual Uses
Burnt in Remembrance Fires to honor lost ancestors
Carried in soul pouches to recall dreams
Used as binding thread in truth-tethering spells
When brewed, induces soft trancewalks through the memory-lattice
â ď¸ Glitch Affliction: Memory-Fade Rot
Exposure to long-term glitch zones causes Memory-Grass to become brittle and colorless. In this state, it erases rather than recalls, leading to memory gaps in nearby fauna and Seekers. When burned in this condition, it triggers disorientation or false ancestral visions.
đŁď¸ Whispers of the Spiral
âStep lightly where the memory-grass grows. The Spiral remembers everything, even what you forgot to forget.ââ Thalen of the Ember Veil
