Codex Entry: Inkwrath Beetle
Ring: Glyphlands
Habitat: Inksap tree hollows, sigilvine clusters, rune-pools
Diet: Pigment-rich moss, spilled ritual inks, decayed glyph-bark
Temperament: Twitchy, reactive, flares in defense with vivid ink bursts
Predators: Runebirds, Echo-Ants (when vulnerable)
Lore: Inkwrath Beetles are thumb-sized carapaced insects whose wing-casings shimmer with moving script. When startled, they expel bursts of burning black-blue ink that temporarily erase visible glyphs in the area, creating brief "null pockets."
Some Seekers use Inkwrath shells in erasure rituals or to mask sigil trails during spiritual evasion. However, the beetle is also seen as a volatile force—symbolizing both necessary forgetting and the rage of hidden truths.
Where they gather in swarms, a memory rupture has likely occurred nearby.
