Codex Entry: Erasure Crab

  • Ring: Dead Glyph

  • Habitat: Collapsed ritual vaults, ashstone reefs, and beneath broken memory-bridges

  • Diet: Fragmented glyphs, ritual remains, symbolic decay

  • Temperament: Methodical, silent, oblivious to presence unless disturbed

  • Predators: None—respected by even the Null Crow

Lore:

Erasure Crabs are broad-shelled, ash-colored crustaceans with glyph-etched carapaces and pincers shaped like cracked quills. As they move, they scrape sacred surfaces clean of spiritual residue, consuming what the Spiral no longer wishes to remember. Their movements are slow, but the traces they leave behind are strangely sterile—an absence so complete, even memory recoils from it.

When a sacred site has fulfilled its purpose, Erasure Crabs are often first to arrive, scuttling through the ruins with quiet purpose. Their presence is viewed as the Spiral’s final punctuation—a living period after an ancient sentence.

Some say they carry forgotten names beneath their shells. None who have lifted one have remembered what they found.

Spiritual Alignment:

  • Ritual Cleansing

  • Symbolic Finality

  • Memory Decomposition
