Codex Entry: Brayuun – The Antlered Wraith-Cat

Guide of the Hollow Path, Presence in Absence, and Shadow Familiarity

Name:

Brayuun: Known by Spiral dream-keepers as “The Silence That Hunts with You”

Type:

Animal Guide – Hollow Alignment

Form:

A large, feline creature with sleek midnight fur and spectral white antlers rising like bone-chimes from its brow. Its eyes are dark pools with glimmering spiral reflections deep inside. Its tail leaves streaks of faint light or shadow depending on who is watching.

Symbolism:

  • Elemental Focus: Hollow (emptiness, haunting, unrealized potential)

  • Archetypal Role: Brayuun teaches the Seeker to move through emptiness without becoming lost in it—to find shape within what is missing

  • Associated Glyph: An antlered crescent fading into a spiral void

Behavior and Nature:

  • Appears in moments of loss, identity shedding, or when a Seeker has stopped “trying”

  • Will sometimes mirror the Seeker’s movements precisely, as if asking: are you here, or watching yourself from afar?

  • Often glimpsed from the corner of the eye or trailing just behind

Presence in the Spiral:

Brayuun prowls the Hollow Paths, Absent Groves, and appears during Name-Shedding Rites and Inner Disappearance Trials. He may also arrive when a Seeker begins to fear their own stillness.

Phrase of Arrival (Heard as echo or written in air):

“You have not vanished. You have only stepped outside the frame.”

Companion Role:

  • Ideal for Seekers unraveling identities, facing numbness, or confronting inner void

  • Works closely with Omryl, Fractured Pathwalkers, and those ready to stop performing spiritual healing

  • His antlers are used as ritual symbols to mark hidden truths and paths not chosen

Ritual Invocation Offering:

To invite Brayuun’s haunting grace:

  • Write your name in ash

  • Speak it three times, then wipe it away

  • Sit in darkness until your own breathing becomes unfamiliar

  • When you feel eyes that do not demand—he is near
